Advantages of nanocoating at a glance

When does nanocoating especially make sense?

  • Nanocoating increases the efficiency of your PV modules, but there are certain situations where it is most advisable
  • Especially where solar radiation is weak and weather conditions are not optimal, you want to maximise the electricity production of the PV system
  • PV systems located in rural and industrial areas get easily and hard polluted - as a consequence, the required cleaning and inspection frequency is higher than average
  • PV-Modules are higly sensitive, therefore an exposure to external influences (ex., scratches, damages caused by moss and lichens, etc.) can significantly decrease your efficiency

What are the advantages of PV-nanocoating?

  • Self-cleaning effect: dust and dirt do not stick to the modules and are easily removed by the rain
  • Anti-reflective effect: nanocoating increases transmittance and reduces the blinding effect of the modules - in a year after nanocoatig PV yield increases by 7-12.5%!
  • Anti-fouling and deicing effect: nanocoating prevents moss growing on the modules and ensures little to no ice and snow formation
  • Nanocoating prolongs the longevity of the PV system by protecting the modules from scratches and other minor physical damages

FAQ

Due to a self-cleaning effect nanocoating keeps your solar modules clean for a long period of time. Thus, you always benefit from the best possible energy yield of your PV system. Nanocoating is especially recommended for the photovoltaic systems prone to contamination (ex., PV systems located on the roofs of agricultural or industrial facilities).
To achieve the best possible effect, the modules are thoroughly cleaned right before the nanocoating. Nanocoating is then applied by simple spraying over the modules.
1. By means of a water test: wipe the nanocoated surface with a wet cloth to remove possible dirt. Then pour a glass of water on the cleaned area. There should be formed some small drops of water, which should be evenly distributed over the surface rather than form one large drop.
2. By means of measuring: by measuring the idle current of strings before and after nanocoating.
As nanocoating strongly ties to the modules, the product holds for more than 15 years.
Our partners have prepared scientific reports in collaboration with the "Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, Faculty of Engineering" and the testing institute "IRAtec - Institute for piping and apparatus engineering GmbH". The reports are focused specifically on durability, abrasion and wear of the nanocoating technology.
Nanocoating was tested in accordance with IEC 61215 (weathering test), IEC 61701 (salt mist corrosion test), ISO 15184 (pencil test), ISO 2409 (cross-cut test), ASTM G75 (Miller test) and CELLO.
The company that performs the nanocoating of the PV system takes over the factory warranty, should any damage occur during the coating. An "extended product liability insurance" and a "service insurance (incl. work carried out on third-party land)" are standards of our partners.
The cost of nanocoating is determined by a number of attributes. Factors such as accessibility, surface area of the modules and availability of water and power connections are decisive factors here. Contact us right now and get your personal tailor-made offer.
